Bushfire Assessments and BAL Reports

Eagle Urban helps property owners, designers and developers understand bushfire constraints early and incorporate practical protection measures into their proposals. We provide bushfire assessment and planning advice for projects across the Mid North Coast and wider NSW.

How we can help

  • Bushfire Assessment Reports
  • Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) assessments and certificates, subject to the requirements of the approval pathway
  • Bushfire assessment for residential, commercial and industrial proposals
  • Subdivision bushfire assessment and strategic bushfire studies
  • Asset protection zone planning
  • Advice on building siting, access, water supply, landscaping and construction requirements

A clear way forward

The assessment required depends on your site, proposal and approval pathway. We review the available information, identify the appropriate scope and explain how bushfire requirements may influence the design. Josh holds a Graduate Certificate in Bushfire Protection; any project-specific certification requirements are confirmed when scoping the engagement.

You work directly with Josh Eagleton, with planning, development and bushfire advice coordinated around your project.

Questions about your project

Is a BAL assessment the same as a full bushfire assessment report?

They address related matters but may serve different approval requirements. Send your proposed development and any Council or certifier request so we can identify the appropriate assessment.

When should I arrange bushfire advice?

Before finalising the building location or subdivision layout, where possible, so the design can respond to identified constraints.

What information is needed?

The property address or lot and DP details, a site plan, proposal description and any Council or certifier correspondence.
