Planning insights / Application assessment
Council Has Requested More Information: What Next?
A Council request for further information needs to be considered against your application, plans and supporting reports. A coordinated response helps address the issues raised and keeps revised documents consistent.
A practical way to organise the response
- Read each requested item and note any stated deadline
- Collect the lodged plans, reports and relevant correspondence
- Identify which items need planning advice, design changes or specialist input
- Clarify unclear requests with the assessment team
- Coordinate revisions across plans and reports
- Prepare a response that explains how each item has been addressed
Resolve the underlying issue
A request may concern missing information or a more substantive planning issue. Before commissioning isolated reports, review how the items relate to the overall proposal. Eagle Urban can assess the correspondence and scope planning assistance or consultant coordination relevant to the outstanding matters.

Questions about your project
Does a request mean the proposal will be refused?
The request alone does not establish the eventual outcome. Its contents need to be considered against the proposal and applicable requirements.
Can another planner assist after lodgement?
Yes. Provide the application documents and correspondence so the proposed engagement can be scoped.
What should I send first?
The full Council request, lodged plans and reports, application reference and any response deadline.
